Update 1/9/13: Happy New Year!  My foster family says I am a trip and I have one heck of a giddy up on me!  What can I say?  I know how to work a room!  I follow my humans everywhere and when I can't get there walking, I will barrel roll until I am where I want to be.  It must be hysterical because my humans always giggle or laugh when I do it.  I like to roll over and smile for belly rubs too.  It's kind of a thing I love to do!  When I am ignored, I begin to "kick" with my hind legs to get attention.  It always works!  I decided to make it my New Year's Resolution to find a furever family to share my life with.  Anyone with their own issues could learn a lot from a special pup like me and I'm sure I could learn a lot from them too!  I am a happy, funny little guy who doesn't allow for my disability to get in the way.  And heck, why should I?  My life is so much better now than it would have been in doggie jail!  Life is good!  Please consider adopting me by filling out an adoption application at www.yorkie911rescue.com.

Update 10/18/12: Y
ou may think I'm slightly handicapped with the unsteadiness of my feet, but don't try telling me that!   I get along fine with other dogs and have no issue bonding with both foster parents with ease!  I love to follow everyone around, dog or person, as I clearly just want to be part of a, the, family!  I may be slower than the other pups but I never quit.  When the other pups go out, I go out too!  When someone comes to the door and the other pups run to see, so do I!  When the other pups want attention to play, so do I!  So you see?  Despite my unsteady walk, I am just one of the pups!  From the first night that I arrived in my new foster family's home, I was great at bedtime.  I went right to bed in my crate and slept through the night without a peep.  I am, however, an early riser, which works out great because so are my foster parents!  As you can see, I made myself at home immediately so I have no issues adapting to new environments! In essense, I am an extremely affectionate, curious and smart pup that will quickly bond and acclimate to whoever is ready to adopt me!  Won't you be my new furever family?

Update 8/17/12:  I saw the dogter this week - she cleaned my teeth and removed an icky mess in my neck but the biopsy came back and it is good news - no cancer!  I am on my way to getting better but I still have a long way to go.  Hopefully I will soon be able to go to a home of my own (not that I don't love my foster home :) )  Check back soon for more good news!

Woof Woof!  My name is Sonny and I am a Yorkie who found himself at a doggie jail.  Thank goodness some great Rescue Squad volunteers found me and my buddy Cher and saved us!  I am such a good boy and absolutely LOOOVE belly rubs.  I will flop over for a good belly rub at any moment of the day they are being given out!  I currently have some issues that need to be checked out with the dogter.  I need a checkup to have some growths removed from my body, need the dogter to take a look at my paw that seems swollen but also need to figure out why my legs collapse from under me.  The Rescue Squad noticed that someone cut the nails on my one paw so short that the nail is almost completely gone.  They are concerned that it may have caused the swelling and perhaps even an infection.  I am a little chunkie and need to lose a pound or two but the Rescue Squad doesn't think that is the reason for my clumsy walking.  They are more concerned I may have a neurological issue or an injury from the infection.  I am hoping to be available for adoption soon but in the meantime, any donations towards my medical testing would be ever so kind!  I really appreciate it from the bottom of my paws and heart!  Please visit www.yorkie911rescue.com and use the PayPal button to submit a donation towards my medical.  Thank you!
