Update 12/1/12: It's been a while since I've given an update on myself so I thought I would share a little bit more about myself. I recently overheard my foster Mom tell the Rescue Squad that personality wise, she believes I think I am home. In a way, I guess she is right. I am pretty easy going and adapt in a new environment pretty quickly. I figure why not get comfy while I'm here?! I am crate trained and do not have accidents. My foster Mom says the cutest thing to watch me do is when I try to hide treats and toys under blankets. I also have this uncanny ability to tuck myself into blankets and burrow in! I decided that I am looking for a furever family that will have a playmate for me. I always try to play with my foster fursister but she is not interested in me. I love to run and play! I am a very sweet boy but like the terrier in me, I will go into protective mode when the doorbell rings. I also am not a fan of having my feet yanked... but then again, would you? My Howliday wish is to find a wonderful home with a fun, young family with a furry friend for me that will love me the way I deserve. Visit www.yorkie911rescue.com to make our wish come true!
Update 10/12/12: Did you know that I bunny hop? When I am very eager or excited for something, I stand on my hind legs and hop towards my humans! My foster Mom says I look like a kid who jumps up and down when happy! It is really cute! (Or so she says!) When I want your attention, I will stand on my hind legs and wave my front paws at my humans. I figured out that if I do something absolutely adorable that it will get me all the petting and hugs that I want! Put in an adoption application for me if you can handle all my super cuteness!
Update 10/3/12: I am doing wonderful in rescue care... so wonderful that I already believe I am part of the family! I make myself comfortable on the couch by my foster family and snuggle up to my foster fursibling when the humans aren't around. I love to go on walks and sniff all of the other dogs. I seem to do well with cats and bigger dogs as well. I do not bark or growl but I will follow my foster fursibling when she chases a squirrel or two. I do bark when someone comes to do the door but after being assured that the person is not a threat, I quiet down. I believe that is what dogs are supposed to do- alert their family of potential intruders. I have also learned that human food tastes really good and sometimes I have a bad habit of begging. My foster family is spoiling me and let me sleep in their bed at night. I do need to be crated during the day though when my foster family is out because I enjoy going through the garbage and hiding the items around the house. They do not enjoy that game as much as I do! It leads the Rescue Squad to believe that I may have perhaps been abandoned for a longer time than they even realized because I seem to have these scavenger tendencies. I won't eat the garbage but I love to hide treats for later. I also love to run. Last weekend my foster family took me apple picking upstate with them and I spent so much time tearing around the orchard, that my white paws had grass stains on them! I know I'm not a Yorkie but I am such a great dog and need a furever family to share my greatness with! So what are you waiting for? Put in an adoption application for me!
My name is Stewie and I was a home-less pup. A family found me abandoned on a golf course so they called the Rescue Squad who took me into foster care and are taking very good care of me now. They think I am a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix or something of the sort. I am very sweet and immediately did well with everyone in the home, including the other dogs. My foster pawrents are working on potty training with me as I have had a few accidents in the house but will go outdoors when taken. (I'm still getting used to my schedule & new surroundings!) I like to cuddle on the couch and I try to play with the other dogs but I am not sure how to go about it. I am a pretty quiet dog overall. I bark when someone is at the door to warn my family but that is about it. I like kids and enjoy their company so much that I will sit with them. I also walk well on a leash; no pulling or barking at other dogs. I have to go to the dogter to get neutered and have a check-up and to figure out how old I am. All that is happening this week and then I was told that I can go off to a new furever home that will love me and never leave me. Imagine that! Please visit www.yorkie911rescue.com to fill out an adoption application for me. Adoption fee $350. More about StewieGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
