There are many different gifts that a dog may be blessed with. The ability to heal is chief among them. Through my short life I have been hurt both physically and mentally, but my healing in both these areas has been tremendous. My burns are healing over. They are no longer pink and raw. The skin has turned color. Who knows, maybe in time I will regrow hair. I do walk a little funny and sometimes stumble, but pull a treat out of the cupboard and I will come running full tilt! I also have some focusing issues. It takes me a little bit to see something placed right in front of me. I try to concentrate so hard that I forget to control my back half. When this happens, you may find me trying to eat my dinner while doing a handstand! Physical healing is great, but my mental healing is more important. The rescue squad isn't sure what happened to me, and I'm not telling. I am not going to let past bad memories damage my future! There are things I am still afraid of (like the rain), but I have healed enough to realize that most people are kind and loving. Most dogs are curious and friendly. Most children can be compassionate and a great source of petting! Oh, the petting! It is wonderful. So are hugs and cuddles! Life may have begun a little difficult, but has become oh so wonderful! I just need one more thing to make my life perfect: a furever family of my own. I am hoping some fantastic family will bring me home to love forever. I promise to always lick your toes in thanks!
