Rainbow Bridge
![]() Sweet Nori - we lost you too soon! I hope the love we gave you the last few months are the ones you took with you. Forever in our hearts - all the fosters at Yorkie911 ![]() It is with great sadness I write to tell you that my boy Riley (Dustin) went to Rainbow Bridge on Feb. 27 with the help of my son Patrick who was here for emotional support and our lovely vet. Riley has been with me since 2012. Darlene introduced him to me and it was love at first sight. He was total love and snuggles. After being trapped in puppy mill hell for the first part of his life, he just left all that negativity behind him and was just pure love. Over the last few years he lost his sight and was on meds for heart failure but his energy was still high. Then he had seizures occasionally, but our vet did not find a serious reason for it. In the week before his passing, he started becoming weak and did a lot of sleeping. His last full meal was my meatballs which he loved. Three days before he had trouble eating and seemed to choke, then no water. Finally, I called our vet and he came right over. I had a feeling what was coming so I called my son because he had been through this and I never had. While examining Riley the vet saw that he seemed to be in extreme distress. He had developed a second severe heart murmur and the vet felt there was a serious neurological problem that had developed. To diagnose it would be very costly, would be difficult on Riley’s body, and in the end it was unknown if he could even be helped. At 17 years or so, I thought it would be a kindness to let Riley go. He was in my arms, I sang him Amazing Grace (which always calmed him before), Patrick had his arms around both us while stroking Riley. It was a very calm, gentle time for him. I sang and whispered love to him. I know he’s well and happy with our Ginger and Lucky, running and enjoying himself with them. I know I will see him again and that keeps me going. He helped me get through the loss of my husband and mother within 10 months of each other. With Riley gone I am truly alone. When the worst of the raw grief passes, I would like another little buddy. Thank you Yorkie911 for bringing this wonderful little guy into my life. I love you Riley, always. ![]() Nobu (Boo) may have started his life out in a puppymill but he hit the jackpot when he was adopted in Oct 2012. Sadly, he developed kidney disease and his tiny body could not fight any longer. He passed away this morning. Our deepest condolences to his mom - Candice. He will be missed by so many. RIP Boo ![]() Mason was not the easiest of boys but after years with his forever foster mom, he had learned to trust and he taught his mom about patience and unconditional love. RIP Mason - know that you were loved.
