Barney
8/5/19: From Barney: To all my special friends. Thank you for all your beautiful sentiments. It makes me so happy that in a world that is filled with so many hardships, that I was able to provide some momentary joy on a daily basis. Since it is my birthday today, I would just like to ask for one present but it’s a doozy and only Mommy can get it for me. Mommy, I beg you to stop crying and screaming at the top of your lungs. You knew my time was coming and we had three extra months together that were filled with magnificent days and tons of kisses. I promise you that I have made lots of friends up here and you don’t have to worry. I can breathe freely and effortlessly. On a side note, God said I didn’t need to be fitted for wings. He said my “special ear span” would work nicely up here. Love Barney. 8/3/19: Barney went to heaven at 8:45 am this morning. He had a plan and he wanted to do it his way. He was always a stubborn fella and during his sickness he demonstrated that same remarkable spirit. He was lying down this morning in his bedroom and I was stroking his little head and telling him how much I loved him. I personally think he waited a few more minutes until his vet tech, Marta came in so I wouldn’t be alone. He took a few short breaths and then Barney’s heart just stopped beating. He didn’t suffer and he was lucky to have had so many amazing days since he got ill. Now to say that I am broken into a zillion pieces would be an understatement. I loved and will love Barney with every fiber of my being until I see him again. Thanks to all my friends, who followed the soul of a kind hearted adopted fella for nearly 7 years. Love Barney’s Mom.

Rainbow Bridge gains another Angel
Louie got his wings today. He will be missed but knowing he was being loved in a home with other pups and lots of friends makes his passing a little easier. RIP Louie Louie!

You will be missed!
Travis came into rescue October 2018 and sadly never received any applications (probably due to age). He was loved by his foster mom and all the wonderful volunteers that came to spend time with him - especially Erin! He loved her the most as she spent many hours loving him. We will all miss his snaggly tooth and feisty attitude. RIP Travis!

RIP Monk (aka MonkeyMan)
Today a piece if my heart went to Rainbow Bridge. Monk was so much more than a rescue dog, he truly rescued me. He was a member of the family and the best birthday gift Glen and Capri ever gave me. We had him for 8 wonderful years after he spent 8 cruel years in a Nebraska puppymill. He was 5 pounds of toughness, but to me he was sweet, loving and gentle. Regina

Dennis got his wings!
Dennis (aka Rocco on the website) went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He was a forever foster and had been with his foster mom, Gloria, and his foster sibling Vlad since 2012, along with one other furry sibling, Fosse. Dennis had a few medical issues but he had the best home and family. Everyone will miss him terribly. Our hearts go out to all who have known and loved him.
